Avila and Segovia - full day tour

Join us for a wonderful day tour to the beautiful and historic Spanish towns of Avila and Segovia.

Avila has a perimeter of more than 2.5 kilometers (approx 1.6 miles) of the best preserved medieval walls in the world, and Segovia is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage list and one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.

This is a great day tour for those who wish to see plenty of wonderful sights in one day of travel.

We will make our way to Avila at 9:45am from the center of Madrid. On the way to Avila we will stop at the hilltop of Los Cuatro Postes to admire the superb panoramic views before entering the city. In Avila we will discover the best preserved medieval walls, 88 towers, 9 gates, many churches, gothic palaces, and one fortified cathedral. The tour includes a visit to Avila's San Vicente Basilica and the famous Avila Cathedral.

In Segovia we will visit a UNESCO World Heritage site, most famous for its incredible Aqueduct, a relic of the Roman Empire. We will explore the Alcazar - a stunning 11th century medieval castle set on a rocky outcrop - a favored royal residence for many Spanish kings and the inspiration to the famous Disney Castle. Segovia is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and we will spend the afternoon strolling atmospheric streets filled with art galleries, shops and interesting architecture.

On this tour you can join us for a wonderful Segovian lunch or you can take a lunch of your own. We will return to Plaza de Espana in the center of Madrid at the end of the tour.
