Once Europe’s richest city, Cordoba is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its grand Mezquita. Tour in comfort and style as we pick you up directly from your hotel and take you on a full-day excursion to see all the highlights of this charming city.
The historic quarter of Cordoba, once the home of the Jewish community (La Judería) consists of a beautiful network of small streets and squares all arranged around the city’s impressive Mezquita, one of the largest mosques in the world. When the city was re-conquered by Christians in 1236 they were so impressed with its beauty they decided to leave it intact and to build a Cathedral in the midst of its arches and columns – creating an extraordinary church-mosque. Modifications took 234 years, so the original Gothic style is combined with Baroque and Renaissance elements.
Cordoba’s other treasures include El Puente Romano or old Roman bridge, the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, with its remarkable Arabian baths and Roman mosaics, and an ancient Jewish synagogue, one of the few synagogues left in Spain today.
